Decent dishes of unknown providence

Ordering an A set and a B set, I was not expecting perfect color match but these finishes are really not close. The "pupil" of the catseye finish was completely missing on all but 4 deep plates. Finish is not nearly as glossy as the excellent photos. No makers mark of any kind on the bottoms, no indication that these are Japanese or porcelain as the description states. In fact, these came drop-shipped from Hong Kong with a US customs "Made in China" sticker on the box.

The dishes themselves seem nice enough and the exposed clay on the bottom is of finer grain than my GF's stoneware so it could be a porcelain clay as advertised. And perhaps they are only Japanese "style" dishes. But for the very high price I feel a little misled. At a minimum, I would have liked "pupils" on all the catseyes and not being misled to think these were "Japanese" when they are clearly Chinese.
