Created by Alexander Wilson, a Scottish-American poet, naturalist, and illustrator known as the "Father of American Ornithology," this print represents his groundbreaking work. Wilson documented 268 bird species, 26 of which were previously unknown. His limited budget led to the depiction of multiple species on a single plate, a testament to his resourcefulness and dedication to his craft
